Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai, India

Nature!! What a good place to hang out with friends, family or loved ones. No matter how many times I visit this place, I would still choose to visit this place to hang out with my friends. Same is the case with the locals here from Mumbai. Morning walks, running, hiking to Kanheri caves, cycling, boating, and photography are some of the many interesting things that are done over here.
The park opens at 7 am in the morning. There are entry and parking charges as well.
I prefer coming here in the morning (7:30 - 9:00 am) because of the cool climate and the sun just showing up. Will share all the pictures at the end.

To enter the park you will need to buy tickets from the ticket counter at the entrance of the park itself. The ticket costs Rs 40.

The Park is famous for school picnics. Boating here is a good experience. A ride in the mini train gives a view of almost the entire park. Mini train ride was a nostalgic moment for me. (Felt like a kid ;))
Tiger and Lion Safari gives a visit in the Park to see Tigers/Lions. Tigers/Lions are not seen always.

Kanheri caves are 7 km inside the Park. There are local buses, vans and cycle services to get to the caves.
I would prefer cycle or a private vehicle because exploring the place is convenient this way otherwise the bus or van would directly drop you to the caves and you would not be able to explore the entire Park.
I strictly suggest carrying a bottle of water. Hiking through the caves and getting on top is a bit tiring, so water would help. But the scenery moment is worth the experience. The entry fee to the caves is Rs 5. There are many carvings on the caves which depict the ancient culture and archaeology.

A day at the Park, having a good walk, cycling, boating, photography, hiking, sightseeing would be a great experience and will be a weekend well spent.
Hope you have an amazing weekend too. Do come here in the rains to enjoy the waterfalls.
