Visit Sula vineyards & stay at relaxing Soma resort in Nashik
“It’s a smile, it’s a kiss, it is a sip of wine, it’s wine tasting time.”
Enchanting landscapes, musical & fun drives, soothing taste of wines, scrumptious food and an affordable stay at Soma Vineyards makes for a perfect weekend getaway!
This is a must-go trip for all the exhausted corporates out there and who must take a break from their 9 to 5 job lives. What could be better than a road trip away from the polluted concrete jungles to luscious green landscapes?
Soma Vineyards is located along the edge of the backwaters of Gangapur Dam surrounded by the magnificent Sahyadri Ranges which makes Soma a picturesque resort.
Soma is a 50-acre vineyard resort just besides Sula which is very famous in Nashik, Maharashtra. We loved our stay at the Soma vineyards. As Sula is just a minute away you can’t stop but visit.
Facts straight:
- Soma Vineyards are a 5 hour drive from Mumbai (Thane)
- There are chances of stopping for photographs on your roadtrip. Blame the lush landscapes!
- Best time to visit these vineyards are the harvest months which is from January to March as they are Lush green and loaded with grapes. During rest of the months only branches will be seen, so give it a thought as per your priorities.

- The accommodations at Soma are extremely clean and comfortable although the pool wasn’t clean enough.

Accommodation and Dining
The accommodation at Soma vineyards is affordable yet exotic. Rooms are available at the last minute during off-season, otherwise one needs to book in advance to enjoy their stay during the harvest season. The staff here is extremely kind and hospitable. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable with an ultimate modest interiors. From linen curtains to cozy quilt, from a cool bean bag to a study table, we just loved it all.
We had all our meals at Suffiana which is an outsourced continental cuisine restaurant. The food here is absolutely mouth-smacking and the view here is breathtaking overlooking the vineyards, the amphitheater, the Gangapur dam, and the lush hills. The staff here will insist that clicking pictures are chargeable, but don’t fall for it if you are an in-house guest. We could click pictures the next day after breakfast as the resort staff informed them about the picture thingy.
There is an Indian restaurant in the resort itself, its ambiance is pretty cool with good music and table-chair arrangements. One can take home a bottle of wine from here as well.

- Biking in the vineyards and country roads
One can hire bikes and explore the vineyards and country roads. Many people were seen riding to visit the neighboring Sula. We didn’t feel the need of bicycles since we had a car and the vineyards were small enough to be explored on foot.
- Playing different games in the Red Room
Red room is not what it sounds like. It had many indoor games like carom, table tennis, pool. One could just hang out there anytime as it is 24 hours working.
