Food in Lavasa

Hey Foodies! We recently visited Lavasa city and here we are sharing our experiences with you.

Other than the colorful buildings the outdoor seating of the restaurants also gives a European feel, but it cannot be experienced during monsoon months as you can see in the picture below.

Outdoor seating

Most of the restaurants are at the waterfront promenade. We would suggest you to explore the area by walking right from one end to another and select a restaurant of your choice. There are quite a few options like take away, dine-out, ice-cream stalls and at the end there is a pub as well.

For lunch, try to be at the promenade by or before 2 pm because after that most of the restaurants starts shutting down and even if open the desired food items might be unavailable.

We tried out the following restaurants during our time in Lavasa:

The All American Diner

This place is utterly beautiful with comfy couches giving you the 'Friends' vibes. It serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The attendants were kind and welcoming too.

The food quantity is pretty good with additional side dishes like potatoes, vegetables, and garlic bread as you can see in the pictures. The menu was entirely as per the American cuisine obviously by its name.

Classic Double Decker Burger - Double the original chicken burger with double cheese.
The burger was dry, not enough cheesy and we struggled a lot to finish it. A single burger would have been a better choice. It comes along with potatoes and some sautéed vegetables.

Surf 'N' Turf - Chicken steak with Golden fried prawns- The best of both worlds, served with American corn and sautéed vegetables. The fried prawns as seen in the above picture were crunchy delicious.

Peppered Longhorn - Pepper crusted chicken steak dipped in creamy brandy sauce served with veggies and potatoes. It's a total meat lover dish.

Fussili with chicken and veggies- Chicken and vegetables over a hot pasta in tomato sauce, served with garlic bread and house salad. This was juicy and spicy and was the best among all other dishes

Grilled sandwiches- Tomato, cheese, fried egg, bacon, chicken ham and grilled chicken breasts

Smashed potato- Simple and soft smashed potato and disappears once put in the mouth.

We were extremely full and heavy to walk our way to the hotel. Obviously, this place is recommended if your in Lavasa as it was better than the rest of the places that we tried.

Kofta Kebab

Since we reached the promenade late in the afternoon, most of the places were shut, Kofta Kebab was open but had its lights switched off and so there were no customers. Upon asking we found that it was open. At that time there was only biryani available so we had no other option.

It tasted more of the artificial flovored essence, so we kind of don't recommend this place.

Pizzavala

We had Chicken pizza, garlic bread, and cheese potato, and it was 'Okay'. Pizza had more of the bread and less of the toppings, less juicy.  If you want any other options where you can have pizzas, there is Smokin' Joes at the end of the promenade.

For breakfast on the next day we opted for a place away from Lavasa to experience some traditional taste and it was worth it. We stopped at the place right in front of the Temghar Dam, some place called as Shri Swami. It serves variety of traditional breakfasts like poha, pav bhaji, maggi, egg omlet, egg bhurji pav etc. They serve it really hot and tasty.

I hope this review helps you'll in taking a decision as to where to eat in Lavasa.

  1. Such a mouth watering food amazing and it's true that if you want to have desired lunch you must have to reach before of by 2.00 pm after that hotels would not be able to provide you desired food. In this monsoon we went for the lavasa and had this experience.
